Job Description:

Medivation, Inc. (NASDAQ: MDVN – www.medivation.com), a publicly traded biopharmaceutical company located in San Francisco, is currently seeking a qualified, highly motivated individual for the position of Director of Project Management, reporting directly to the Senior Director, Regulatory.

The company is currently on a steep growth trajectory, with three programs in late stage clinical development targeting large, unmet medical needs.  Dimebon, the company’s lead molecule, is in a second, confirmatory Phase 3 trial in Alzheimer’s disease, and has also successfully completed a Phase 2 trial in Huntington’s disease.  The company’s second compound, MDV3100, is nearing completion of a Phase 1-2 trial in castration-resistant prostate cancer.

The successful candidate will work with project teams to create detailed project timeline and deliverables, as well as creating and tracking budgets. They will also work in partnership with project team to ensure timely, efficient and effective meetings, and to ensure adequate progress on team activities and to document/track rationale behind key decisions. They should ensure that the project team fit the needs of the company by balancing process and flexibility to keep drug development moving quickly and efficiently. They also communicate to project team, senior management and strategic partners on progress to goals, identifying issues and risks, and proposing and implementing plans to resolve such issues and execute corrective actions. They will contribute to team strategy, including reviewing critical documents to ensure they are in line with project goals and objectives.

Minimum Requirements for position:

  • Requires and BA or BS degree, although a graduate degree in a scientific field is highly desirable.
  • Should have 8-10 years experience in pharmaceutical project management, including training across all development function required (clinical, nonclinical, CMC, regulatory).
  • Experience managing a project through to marketing application submission and therapeutic expertise (oncology) a plus.
  • Must possess advanced knowledge and skills with Microsoft Project, Microsoft Excel and other reporting and tracking tools.
